QUEENS BOROUGH PRESIDENT MELINDA KATZ is NPHD’s PARTNER in DIVERSITY AND GOVERNANCE TRAINING

Kew Gardens, NY, December 8, 2014 – In partnership with Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, the Nonprofit HelpDesk hosted an evening of no-cost workshops to empower nonprofit organizations with knowledge and skills for success.

Two customized workshops were given at President Katz’s office in Queens Borough Hall: Diversity Training and Governance. These workshops were geared for community, management, staff and board members of any service organization or nonprofit residing in Queens Borough.

Management consultant John Magisano delivered an outstanding workshop on Governance, providing direction on how to build a cohesive, powerful Board that would steward the mission of a nonprofit organization. Extremely relevant to the Queens community and political culture of New York City, NPHD trainer, Esther Russell, MA, delivered a diversity training workshop addressing how to leverage difference as a positive collaborative strength in the work force and in our personal lives.

NPHD’s goal is to continue providing no-cost workshops at President Katz’s office to further serve the Queens community.
